"Lawyer-speak" for Don't Drive on the Wrong Side of the Road

A little excerpt from the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.0. 1990, c.H.8.

Overtaking and passing rules

Passing meeting vehicles

148. (1) Every person in charge of a vehicle on a highway meeting another vehicle shall turn out to the right from the centre of the roadway, allowing the other vehicle one-half of the roadway free.

... because "Thou shalt not drive head-on into oncoming traffic" was way too simple.

Living in a sue (stupid) society, we can't afford not to post the obvious to the ignorant. Such as:

1) Do not use hairdryer in shower.

2) Contents of cup may be hot (the infamous coffee from McDonald's where some dolt put the cup between her legs and burned herself when the cup spilled...she deserved the burns, NOT the money.

3) Do not let small children play with plastic bags.

If everybody took responsibility for their own stupidity on such matters, then there would be long lines of lawyers at the unemployment offices, soup kitchens and living in cardboard boxes or on park benches....hehe...j/k.

I think the same rule applies to all professions:

They make the rules, literature, explanations, etc way harder then they need to be.

This is true, certainly, in the legal system, and I can tell you it's true in the engineering field.

Why?

It's because groups of people want to keep their jobs. If almost anyone could be a lawyer or engineer, where would be the fun in that?
